Magic Mushroom Reunion Party VII at the Dole Cannery's Pomaika'i Ballroom (11-28-2015)

Another successful Magic Mushroom Reunion Party despite the last minute change from Manoa Grand Ballroom to the Pomaika'i Ballroom in Iwilei.  Thanks goodness for social media, all ticket holders showed up at the right place!  Kudos to Dennis & Joy Matsukawa, their family, and the many hands for making this reunion party possible.  Tonights line up:  Tymeless, Audissey & Friends, Powerpoint II, and WhiteLight; hosted by Radio Celebrity Dave Lancaster of Hawaiian 105 KINE. Many family and friends kicking off the holiday season enjoying live music from the past.  Ballroom and line dancers took advantage of the extra large dance floor area.  Perhaps to dance off recent Thanksgiving Day calories.

JonT Media Hawaii was happy to capture many Golden Moments (as shown below), including the surprise Mob Dancers whom adorned feather masks during the 'Cocobana' song.  We even caught a bunch Higas in the house.

Like the old adage, '#7 is heaven', but we're sure '#8 will be just as great!'
Stay tuned for the next MMRP on May 21, 2016, and  Don't Stop The Music!

Our our way home to Central Oahu, we like to pop in at Monterey Bay Canners (for one more shot of live music) in Aiea, as they're open till 1:00 am.  Tonight we visited with ISLAND JAM.  Like musical chairs, it was musical instruments tonight.  Everyone was swapping turns on the drums and bass guitar.  You don't see this happen too often. These folks are a happy bunch.  Thanks for a good time Island Jam. Till next time---Don't Stop The Music!

TAPESTRY at The Honolulu Club (11-5-2015)

TAPESTRY & COMPANY
(L-R):  Steve, Glenn, Bob, Sandy and Gerry

This is Sandy's Band, Tapestry.  They play at The Lounge at The Honolulu Club every first Thursday of the month from 6:30 pm.  The Lounge is a clean relaxing enviroment, with a full bar and delicious tapas menu. There's a small dance area if you feel like dancing; however guests typically enjoy listening, relaxing and singing along to their favorite songs.   The band is called Tapestry as they share favorite songs woven from the past and present.  Music is predominately Jazz, but they also do R&B, Rock, Hawaiian and Country.  Aside from favorite Jazz standards, Sandy will also do her favorite songs by Carole King (thus the name Tapestry from the popular 1970s Album), the Carpenters, Dione Warwick and more. On this night Gerry Cabral from the band Kona Winds, and Deja Blu joined them on keys and vocals.  Their next show will be on January 7, 2016.

Tapestry, the Band:
Sandy Tsujimura - vocals.
Steve Lucas - guitar & vocals.

We visited with this band before and always enjoy their performance, but what a special treat to see them tonight!  On this night SOUL PILOT introduced their new female lead vocalist, Riya Davis.
